Windows7 Release Date Announced

Microsoft officially announced that Windows7 will be released on October 22nd, 2009. Initially it will be available in following 14 languages i.e. English, Spanish, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Brazilian, Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Chinese (Hong Kong). Microsoft also confirmed that the price of Windows7 will be 10% less than the current Windows Vista prices.

The estimated retail prices for upgrade packaged retail product of Windows 7 in the U.S. are:
Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade): $119.99
Windows 7 Professional (Upgrade): $199.99
Windows 7 Ultimate (Upgrade): $219.99

And the estimated retail prices for full packaged retail product of Windows 7 in the U.S. are:
Windows 7 Home Premium (Full): $199.99
Windows 7 Professional (Full): $299.99
Windows 7 Ultimate (Full): $319.99

    Or you could just download the new version of Ubuntu which also comes out in January, will be free, more stable, performs better on day to day tasks, and oh did I mention that all of the software is free too? Why in the world would someone willingly pay for an operating system when a better and free version is just a click away?
