Here are some useful tips that will speed up your Windows XP performance.
1) Defragmenting Hard Drive:
Defragmenting of your hard drive is the easiest way to speed up your Windows performance. When we defragment the hard drive it organizes all the data in the disk so that data can be read continuously. This process gathers the scattered data on the disk on different locations as a result your system performance improves.
2) Disable Windows Index Service:
By default Windows Index Service is enable that slower down your system performance basically this service indexes files on local and network drives to speed up the file search process. To turn this service off, go to Control Panel and click Administrative Tools and click Services. Now, click on the option stop Windows Index Service.
3) Remove unused Fonts:
Another way to boost up your Windows performance is removing the unused fonts installed in your system. Because these fonts can increase your Windows XP boot up time. To remove fonts go to Control Panel, open the Fonts folder and delete the unused fonts. The less number of fonts, the faster programs like Office and other graphics will load.
5) Remove unwanted start-up programs:
Try to have a limited number of programs in the Start menu. Remove those programs that you use less. So remove these programs as they reduce the startup speed and consume system memory.
6) Windows XP’s Disk Cleanup:
Disk cleanup process involves searching and analyzing the data on your hard drive for files that are no longer of any use. After Searching and analyzing it then automatically removes the unnecessary files and makes the space free on your hard drive. Win Xp users can also use disk clean up to remove temporary internet files, remove downloaded programs and remove installed programs that are no longer in use.
