Adobe is behind Wired Magazine’s new digital edition of iPad. Adobe’s new solution for production and distribution of digital magazines, among other iPad this includes other things created with Adobe InDesign CS as well as a number of other Adobe publishing technologies. Wired has also been instrumental in the development and contributed to Adobe’s new Digital Viewer technique.
“The result of Adobe’s collaboration with Wired is a format for digital magazines, which introduces an engaging experience and makes it possible to create unique content with a feeling and a look that stands out from the crowd in the digital magazine world.
We plan soon to make our Digital Viewer software available for all media companies, and we are also developing new versions that can be used on multiple hardware platforms. Everyone who currently works with InDesign CS5 in their journal production to know that progress in creating elegant digital versions of its publications is not large, “said David Burkett, Director of Creative Solutions at Adobe.
The publishers of Wired expects within the next month by moving several magazines over the new Adobe platform.
“Our relationship with Adobe has helped us to think in new ways and restore the printed media as a fresh digital magazine experience on IPAD. Our relationship with Adobe has only just begun. In the coming months we expect to also use this technology to several of our other magazines, “says Thomas J. Wallace, editorial director at Condé Nast – the publisher, which among other things publishes Wired.
