Nokia N-series smartphones the new tip on Linux

Nokia has announced that the next exit of the N series smartphones abandon the ubiquitous Symbian OS , to marry an open source solution based on Linux. In this case it is Meego, a mix of two Linux-based platforms : Nokia Maemo and Moblin Intel. The N8 will, in fact , the latest N-series phone equipped with Symbian operating system , however , will remain on this lower-end Nokia phones . The choice of Nokia seems to be dictated by the need to compete in two platform are taking over: Android iPhone.
