The new version 2.0.1 of the Skype for iPhone and iPod touch is compatible with multitasking iOS4 and it allows to receive notifications of VoIP calls even when you are using another application.
The Skype client also runs in the background as visible in the picture, when someone calls you there appears a popup that allows you to respond. Ringing is displayed exactly in the bar at the top, the same way you traditional calls. We remind you that the application also works on 3 g data network and, unlike what was announced with the previous release, Skype will not pay any additional subscription to the service to use this mode.
The Skype client thus becomes much more versatile, although it still does not support video call exploiting the front camera of the iPhone 4 or back of the iPhone 3Gs as Fring did.
