It may be a good idea to go through your new iPhone, for hardware failures before you take it right into use. There is fortunately a list with 25 points, coming all the way around.
TUAW has a great article where they mention 25 things you can check to find out if your iPhone is flawless four. The 25 items are divided into three groups; Things should test before you sync the first time, things you should test the first time you sync and things you should test after you have synchronized.
Most who have followed some of that, likely as the very first test antenna, but there is no reason to stop there when there is now a guide to the complete overhaul.
The test is extensive and many of the things you find out quickly from under all circumstances if they do not work. Yet it is a great idea things to spend the half hour it takes to run the 25 things through when you get a new iPhone 4. So are any flaws discovered immediately. It is always easier to have swapped a faulty iPhone, if you have not taken it in use and therefore may be doubts about whether they themselves have caused any damage.
