Review: Hero of Sparta II for iPhone

by Mr. Panda on August 20, 2010

Gameloft recently released update version of Hero of Sparta II which is also supported by iPhone 4. Hero of Sparta II offers many hours of great entertainment with great graphics, especially the game is optimized for iPhone 3GS but it can also be played on iPhone 4. It has  beautiful and nearly seamless graphics and the soundtrack is also impressive with bombastic music that puts the right mythological mood over the game.

Hero of Sparta II offers several improvements, among other things, one should not just be tapping its screen into enemy territory, but actually designed specifically to combat enemies. It is still relatively easy to combat enemies using the virtual joystick and small attack buttons. However, it often ends in arbitrary printing to defeat enemies, just as it takes time to understand and learn all the features, including how to activate the special weapon and raises his shield, but it works.

The actual steering is vastly improved and it is fairly easy to move the protagonist Argos around the countryside. Hero of Sparta II has also been given for free movement, so you can jump anywhere you want, almost, with the improved interaction with the environment.

The game is actually a good example of how a classic game in this genre can work well on iPhone and iPod touch. It’s easy to go to and get started and logical to follow in.

However, there are a lot of video clips and code that constantly loaded and it looks a bit on the aging processor in the iPhone 3GS, who sometimes stutters a bit in it, but it is definitely to live with in length. In return, run it perfectly on the iPhone 4.

Hero of Sparta II for sale in the App Store for 42$ and we can strongly recommend this game if you’re into action with epic battles and fun puzzles. We give the game four out of five stars.

Hero of Sparta II is also available in an HD version of iPad. Here is the price 59$.
