RUMOR: RIM Coming Up With BlackPad

RIM may present their own tablet during autumn to counter Apple iPad and all future tablets based on Windows 7 and Android.

After rumors reported by BetaNews a couple of weeks ago, now the authoritative site Bloomberg cites two unnamed people aware of the company plans, according to which the BlackPad – This is likely the name of RIM signed tablet – will be presented in November.

Bloomberg also reported various details on what should be salient features of BlackPad: the device will have roughly the same size of rival iPad and will have both Wi – Fi Bluetooth, So as to allow users to connect to the Internet through the connection of its 3G BlackBerry smartphone.

The tablet of RIM will also present different characteristics like dual camera on back and front device to enable users to take photos and do video conferencing, the tablet will be the operating system Blackberry OS 6.

They should not name it anything with “Pad” in it, though. Apple has 99% of the tablet market. Anything similarly named is in bad taste. And they may get attention from Apple’s trademark lawyers. iPad is even black.
