Gartner’s report on the mobile market in 2010, shows the turmoil that is taking place in the ranking of dedicated OS smartphones (which are also growing, 13.8%).
Symbian is still leading, with two fifths of the market share. RIM follows, with 18.7%; Android takes third place (17.2%), ahead iOS (14.2%). But these last two are progressing rather quickly, while the first two (especially Symbian, with down 10%) are in decline. If we follow this trend, Android will arrive safely and quickly head.
But there are also others, including Microsoft, which announced the final version of its SDK for Windows 7 Phone mid-September. Already, the beta version of this kit has been downloaded by more than 300,000 developers in six months! Not to mention that HP has invested $ 1 million for his Palm Hot Apps Samsung, with its youngest Bada, Nokia, etc..
