Communications during multiplayer gaming sessions on Xbox 360 will have much higher quality than before. The next update of the console, waiting for autumn to coincide with the advent of Kinect, will have a revision of the codec.

According to engineers there will be improve in the clarity of voice communications between the console even during gaming sessions. Obviously we must evaluate the result of this commitment.

Jerry Johnson, Head of Xbox Live Studios said;

“The codec we used so far had a low bit rate and then we retired. The spread of broadband connections faster finally allowed to intervene, and then the “headset” will provide a better service.
