The electronics giant Sony Ericsson released earlier this year a similar phone in the form of X10 Mini and we look a bit further back, remember the great XPERIA X10? The Great X10 approached people with a passion for handheld PCs, while the small X10 Mini is designed for those who want a touch phone that can be stored away where it should be. Find out the 10 Best Free Apps for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 and Top 5 Free Games for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8.
X8 have many of the same thing as the above two, but the brilliance of X8 is:
- X8 is cheaper than both XPERIA X10 and X10 Mini
- X8 is not clumsy as XPERIA X10 and have bigger screen than the X10 Mini
SE X10 Mini (Mini and Pro) has so far been huge sales successes. Sony Ericsson X8 takes everything great from both the large and small version of the XPERIA series and summarized in a mobile.

- Comparison between Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 and X10 Mini
Design and Layout
The phone dimensions are 99 x 54 x 15 mm, which is around 15-16 mm longer than the nearest competitor, SE X10 Mini. Appearance wise resembles X10 Mini since it has the slightly rounded edges of both top and bottom, and the mandatory three buttons at the bottom, as respectively. takes care of the menu, startup screen and back button. The phone is not as “edgy” as X10 Mini, which is positive.
Screen
X8 has 3.0″ capacitive TFT touchscreen of HVGA resolution, 16M colors. Even though the screen only has grown by just under a centimeter from X10 Mini, the solution is doubled! That means clear images and crisp text (and it also makes it much easier to hit the virtual keys).
Colors
X8 is available as a starting point in white, a Sony Ericsson has chosen to make some of its covers in funky colors. Colors include fade to dark blue and pink! I tell you, it gives a lively, bold look that is not seen in many other models! (Be prepared for envious glances). See picture below, but please just note that it is not certain all sellers leads all colors (it’s worth just to check with your dealer):

Buttons, output and other outputs
Like others in the XPERIA series X8 has no buttons on the left side which is full bar. The right side is adorned with volume and camera buttons. At the top of your phone power buttons, which also acts as a screen lock.
The last time we’ve hardly seen more than 3.5 mm audio jack compatible mobile phones will be launched and it would then be foolish if X8 should be an exception, right? Of course you must not be cheated, which means that with 3.5 mm jack, you can use your regular headphones or earplugs. To the left of the audio jack, you will find microUSB port, including used to transfer files to / from your computer or other electronic devices.
Lets Have a look on key features and Main disadvantages:

There is no doubt that X8 is going to become an instant bestseller. X10 Mini, which compares a part of the notification, have so far been a roaring sales success. X8 incorporates many of X10 Mini’s features, but which the other may seem a tad too small, X8 just got 1 ½ cm more to do good. It is not only phone there was a little bit longer, but also the screen.
Actually doing the extra millimeter screen, the solution is doubled! It means quite crisp text for you and super-clear images that do not irritate the eye with unclear motives.
X8 has everything a modern smartphone should have, for example. WiFi (wireless LAN), integrated GPS, 2 GB of memory, microUSB, Bluetooth, capacitive touch screen, FM radio, fast processor, 3.5 mm audio jack for your plain., Headphones and more. Definitely a mobile world and the best of all: Considerably cheaper than its sister phones in the XPERIA series!

I received an X8 in a Three upgrade. I was pleased with its functionality but withi a couple of months started experiencing charging difficulties. After removing the back and cleaning the terminals under direction from Three, charging was normal again for a while. This treatment became less effective each time until charging became all but impossible. The phone was taken into a Three store, where the back-cover, front screen protector, battery, SIM and Memory card were removed so that the phone could be returned to Three for repair. After 6 days, I received a letter informing me that the main board was bent and the phone not repairable under manufactureres guarantee. They claimed that such damage could be caused by crushing or applyoing excessive force, neither of which occurred in my hands.
I know that I did not damage the phone unless this could be caused by careful handling or plugging in the charger. The case was unmarked.
The only remedy offered by Three was to supply a new phone at a discounted price.
